When the Democrats folded on the FISA bill, writer Carl J. Meyers suggested changing the party’s symbol from a donkey to “a weasel holding a white flag and wearing knee pads.”
To which I say, “Amen.”
In view of Obama’s vote for the bill, it becomes obvious that his “change we can believe in” is to slap a Smiley Face on the status quo.
H.L. Mencken once said that all politicians must acquire a taste for boot polish. In the case of the Democratic Party, it’s become an addiction.
